Tokyo Tower and More...

Saturday we took off for Tokyo. We were going to be staying at The New Sanno Hotel. The Sanno is a government hotel that we are able to stay at for an affordable price. We got to the hotel around 2:00 that afternoon. I was already exhausted from traveling so we decided to go up to the room and take a break for a little bit and hope that Vann would take a nap. Finally he fell asleep and didn't wake up until 5:00pm. As soon as he woke up we got ready and headed down to the subway station. I really wanted to go check out Tokyo Tower since we didn't get to do that last year. I also wanted to do it at night so everything worked out perfect. The tower was way bigger than I was expecting. There were at least ten restaurants if not more inside to eat at. Needless to say Vann picked were he wanted to eat right away "McDonald's." We told him we were going to go up in the tower before we ate. I think he was more excited to go up in the tower than we were. He was jumping up and down as we entered the elevator to go up to the observatory. The view was amazing and we couldn't have pick a better night to do it. It was clear and the moon was suppose to be very bright. I can't believe how many buildings there are here in Japan. I thought Seattle was big but not compared to Japan. Every way that you would look it was miles and miles of skyscraper buildings. As we began to leave the observatory we noticed all these Japanese people at these machines doing something. Of course I am very nosey and I wanted to know what they were doing. I figured out that they were having a medallion engraved. I told Tony right away that I wanted to do that. We then saw another machine were you buy the medallion. We pick what one that we wanted and our medallion was dispensed. We then took the medallion to the other machine and inserted it. Tony typed out on the screen what we wanted to have engraved. We put the date across the bottom and The Michaud's across the top. It turned out pretty cool and it only cost us 450 yen. After all the fun in the observatory we went downstairs and had dinner at McDonald's. We then left and went back to the Hotel to go swimming.

Walked 7.5 milesVann sitting infront of the waterfall infront of the Hotel.
Tony trying to figure out where we are going.
Porche dealership, I know you cant see the car on the top floor but it is a four door Porche.

Vann and I in front of The Tokyo Tower.

The Tokyo Tower was opened in 1958. This same year instant ramen was introduced. The height of the tower is 333m. It is the worlds tallest self-supporting steel tower. The Eiffle Tower in Paris is 320m. It weighs 4,000 tons. That is much lighter than the Eiffle Tower, which weighs 7,000 tons.

I thought this sign was interesting. It was located by a cafe up in the tower. I am not sure what they are meaning by it but I thought I would take a picture of it.
Vann looking through the floor window.
I love Vann's expression.

This is a Diahatsu food truck. He is selling Yakitori (meat on a stick).
This is one of Japan's parking lots. The cars park on top of each other.
I thought this truck was kind of cool. Dad I think you need one of these.
This restaurant was selling these loafs of bread with ice cream and different treats on top of them. It defiantly is made for more than one person.

This is a restaurant that we saw.
This store reminds me of Spencer's in a way but they also sell high end items like Coach and so on.
We found a Wolf Gang Puck.

Hard Rock Tokyo.

We thought this was funny The Starbucks sign with the 100 yen sign. The 100 yen store is like there $1.00 store.
Roppongi was the town that we were in. These lighted signs were on all of the light polls.
